Drilling one of the holes @ Spring Valley.
Drilling one of the holes (in the rain).
Pumping out of the outflow area Apx. 2ft. of sludge in it
Pulling out of a 6 in. plastic pipe w/ a 8 in. trash pump.
Two pumps~ 8 in. trash pump & a 6x5 pressure pump.
Pumping out of a 6 in. plastic pipe w/ a 6 in. trash pump.
Pulling out of outflow area while injecting 1,000 gpm into corner pipe.
Pipe setup for final pull out for four pumps. 4th pipe not visible.
Pumping out of the outflow area w/ apx. 10,000 gpm With 4 pumps
after cleaning is completed.
I used a sludge judge in the out-flow area for sludge depth. W. side
3'-4' dp/E. side 6'-7' dp.
I set up an 8" discharge pipe 200' W. to keep it away from the rock
filter. Then I used an 8" trash pump to pump sludge out.
Along with a 1500gpm pump to agitate the sludge so the 8" could pump
it out.
Notice in the top left corner the black sludge coming out of the green 8"
pipe.
Then I set up a 6" trash pump to pull out of the 6" pipes in the filter.
(All very black @ start up)
Then I set up a 20"x16" pump to pull out of the out flow (Lots more
black "water!")
Then Spring Valley received 10" of rain, it took over a wk. for it to go
down. That added 4"-6" of new sludge to the out flow area.
After the 10" rain I had to move all of the equip. onto the levee to prevent
it from being damaged by the flood waters. There was apx. 3' of water on top of the filter.
A view of the entrance as I pulled away.
When I returned I pumped it out again, when I completed it the 2nd time, I pumped 12-15k
gpm. thru the out flow.
